The Health Insurance Marketplace is where people can learn about health coverage options and enroll in a health insurance plan.

Health Insurance Marketplace Open Enrollment for 2021 has ended. The next Open Enrollment Period for 2022 will begin in the fall of 2021.

Outside of Open Enrollment some people may be eligible for a Special Enrollment Period if they have a life change such as getting married, having a child or losing other health insurance. More information about Special Enrollment Periods is available at

Denali Kid Care

The Alaska Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) provides affordable health insurance for children and teens from both working and non-working families. CHIP, referred to as Denali KidCare in Alaska, provides children who are 18 years of age or younger with health insurance benefits. The AK Children’s Health Insurance Program was designed to ensure that no child in Alaska would go without necessary or preventive medical care. Doctor visits, dental care and vision care, as well as many other medical services, are covered under CHIP.
